How to register a domainCongratulations! You've landed to the first tutorial on the site. Let's get started!
What is a Domain Name?
A domain name, often called a "dot com name", is the Internet address of your web site and normally looks something like www.YourWebAddress.com (Domain names can also end in .net, .org, .info, etc.)
1. Choose a powerful domain
Try to choose a short domain that is easy to remember!
The best thing to do is come up with a 2-word phrase if you can. However, I realize that so many of the common two-word domain names have now been taken. Although you may be able to find some good ones that are left.
2. Go to a domain registration site
3. Purchase the domain
Sites like GoDaddy.com , name.com , namecheap.com and networksolutions.com provide domain purchasing services. You just have to create an account and buy a domain (You can usually pay with a credit card). .com domains are usually 10$+/year.
- Buy a .com domain! The most popular domain extension in the world.
- Protect your domain! If you buy a .com then buy the .net .org of it.
